Jona Claire Turalde

Phillipines

Jona is passionate about sexual and reproductive health and rights and diverse girls’ rights issues. Her educational background is in Anthropology and she’s always been using “cultural dimensions” in her work on feminist & developmental analysis across multilateral sectors. She’s currently a Nominations and Governance Committee member of International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and a Youth Champion and Guiding Group member of the global SheDecides movement.

Jona is also a Global Advisor of FRIDA, Young Feminist Fund and did a research on “Girls to the Front: a snapshot of girl organizing.” She has been constantly finding herself in the extremes of situations: from staying in communities where a teenage mother she interviewed wasn’t aware that she was actually raped – to lobbying, securing and persuading stakeholders to further commit in a gender-equal and intersectional feminist approaches to policies and implementation.
